Historic Cape Henry
|
| Where the
English settlers 1st landed in 1607. There are 2 Lighthouses on
Cape Henry. The oldest Lighthouse, which is the oldest in the US:
Built in 1791. The new Lighthouse was built in 1881. Even
though it is over 100 years old it is still referred as the New
Lighthouse.

Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel - North of the
Lesner Bridge

- Roughly 20 miles in length, the
Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel is a 4 lane toll
crossing and is the only link connecting Virginia's
Eastern Shore to the south Hampton Roads.
- The Bay Bridge offers 2 tunnels approximately 1 mile
long beneath Thimble Shoals & Chesapeake
navigation channels.
- Located at each end of the 2 tunnels are manmade
islands which are
approximately 5.25 acres in size.
- One of the Seven wonders of the world
